Our Story
We both moved to Charleston in August 2023.. same city, same month, total strangers. Then, as fate would have it, we found each other on a pickleball court.
The day we met
One summer night on the pickleball court at Collins Park, there you were.. the beginning of something amazing. Your smile, your laugh, and the way the world seemed to sparkle around you had me obsessed from the very start.
Our first hangout
You, me, and Chase drove out to the Folly Beach lighthouse to chase a sunset — the first of many adventures I'd relive in a heartbeat.
Our first Friendsgiving
The start of the whole Charleston crew. We were all new to town, and that table is where a bunch of strangers slowly turned into our family away from home.
Our first concert
The Stews. The night started at Blind Tiger and we ended dancing all over King St, rolling around Marion Square and God only knows what else.. and one of the first nights when I realized this could be something more. (& not our last crazy Stews experience haha)
The beginning of a dynasty
Our first tournament, back at Collins Park where it all started. We teamed up with Claire & Tyson and won the whole thing, our Pickleball dynasty officially began.
The birthday bash
Two years ago we threw one of the great birthday parties of all time for you and Blake. Water slides, floats on the lake, DJ Stio on the decks, a table at Republic to close it out. Life has a funny way of making everything work out.
The Halloween Party
Another legendary night at the old house, where a space cowboy and a burlesque dancer crossed paths. Something about you in that costume altered my brain, I need to see you in that one again..
The night we decided it was real.
A night that started like any other — a pregame, night out with our friends, nothing out of the norm. But when we 'exchanged numbers' at the bar and made out in the photo booth, I think we both knew what we had was more than a friend.
Our First Date
You texted me a couple days later and told me to meet you in a parking garage downtown.. I had no idea what to expect and we walked over to Candlefish and made these candles together. I still burn yours to this day and it always takes me back to this day.
A Day full of Clay
Won on clay in the morning, lost to clay by nightfall. You spun some awesome bowls and I made whatever the pottery equivalent of a participation trophy is.
The hometown date
A weekend of everything.. drinking games at the horse barn, a rocking 60th b-day party, the best backyard BBQ, the most amazing hosts in the world (shoutout Amy & Brian), and the Greatest Spectacle in Racing. In true Hoosier fashion, it couldn't get any better.
The Summer of Love
The Summer it all bloomed. Boat days, High Tide, a Fourth of July eating crabs, the surprise hibachi dinner for your birthday, Credit One concerts.. one long amazing season full of us.
Sint Maarten
A week in the islands with our friends, and the first time we spent every night together. Long late-night talks where we really got to know each other.. some of my favorite memories we've ever made.
We made it official!
Then out of the blue you invited me to New York with your family for the US Open. A weekend running the city with your parents, great dinners, lots of Honey Deuces and on August 31st I finally asked you to be my girlfriend. About time..
